BR:2-8 PENGUINS

I chose this book "PENGUINS", because the picture of book was very cute. I knew that there are a lot of penguins in the world. They have short legs, and cute winds and warm feather. I thought the feather is so warm, because they live the place that we usually can't live. I want to introduce about 2 penguins. First is Emperor, they are largest one. They can grow as tall as six years old child. Next is Fairy, there are smallest penguin, their height is as same as your knee. They live in Nouth America, South America and Antarctica. I knew about bond of family between penguins. When male penguin has their egg on their foot, female penguin go to get their food. They do this action many weeks. I thought penguin's habit is so good. I want to see penguins.

DONZYUU

Do you know “Donzyuu”? Have you ever heard this name? I have known from I was a child. When I take a class, I asked with my friend whether she knows “Donzyuu”. She didn’t know it. I answered it is a restaurant in my city, so Donzyuu is a famous restaurant. I considered a secret of this hot restaurant, and I found three ideas. They are “We can easy to go”, “Price is cheap” and “Toses dishes are surprising volume”. I will show you about Donzyuu.

Donzyuu is near my house. Here is not big store, there are a few seats and rooms and there are a few parking area. I think it is a normal restaurant, but there are always a lot of cars in the parking store. Moreover, there are sometimes people who wait in line. My city has good facilities for travel, so people can go there easily. In the restaurant, there are few clues, but they have good service, so we can enter to easy. I like its atomosphere.

I think Donzyuu’s food price is cheaper than other restaurant, because we can eat 490 yen. When I go to there, I always order this food. This food’s name is flied chiken table set lunch. This is so delicious. I like it, and there are a lot of good lunch and dinner.

I want to tell you the most wonderful point of Donzyuu. It is volume of lunch. We can eat much rice!! We can eat rice second helping many times, and there is much volume of side dish too. My friend says that he can’t eat all. Of course I can’t finish its dish. We always say, “I’m full upL”

Donzyuu is my special restaurant. I want to go there, and want eat its dishes. I think you may be go to there again.

How to spend on weekends in Japan and Minnesota

• Introduction　
Most people like weekends. They make them both excited and relaxed. This paper will discuss how people spend weekends in Kumamoto and Minnesota. Both countries have good places; for example malls, downtown, mountains, rivers and so on. The largest mall in Minnesota (Mall Of America) is in Minneapolis. This paper will compare that mall and Kumamoto’s mall as well as compare other places and acts of people on weekends.
To answer these questions, before this trip, I prepared a questionnaire and most of the Kumamoto students answered it. There were a lot of answers. I could know about how people spend weekends in Kumamoto. After arriving in Minnesota, I went to malls and saw several good places in Minnesota, and talked with my host family about how they spend weekends in Minnesota, about American culture, religion, food, about life style and custom in Minnesota. I gave the questionnaire and all of host family answered it. There were a lot of good and funny answers. I could know about how people spend weekends in Minnesota.

2. In Kumamoto
Young people often go shopping, drinking, driving and Karaoke in Kumamoto. There are some malls, for example Hikarinomori, Ieon mall and Sanpian. People sometimes go there, and spend their time shopping and eating lunch. Young people also sometimes go downtown. There are a lot of stores. We go there, and hang out with friends and boyfriends or girlfriends. Downtown, there are many drinking restaurants too, so young people go there, and enjoy drinking. Driving is another pleasure of young people. Kumamoto has many beautiful places; for example Mt. Aso and Amakusa. Mt. Aso has many beautiful forests. When it is fine, young people drive there and enjoy nature. Also the mountain has a nice night view. People often look at this sight. In summer, young people go to the beach. Amakusa is one good place for beaches in Kumamoto. Young people spend their time playing beach volleyball, fishing, swimming and eating shaved ice.
According to my study abroad survey, KGU university students usually go shopping, meet friends or date, stay home and work part time on weekends. They often go shopping downtown or shopping malls. A few people answered they sometime go to spa and sports gym or pool, so they must be very healthy. Almost all of them spend time with their friends on weekends. When they spend time with their family on the weekend, they often go to shopping and eat dinner. When they spend it with friends, they often go downtown and to shopping malls. When they spend with boyfriends or girlfriends, they go to shopping malls, movies, drive, other towns and so on. Finally, they spend from 2,000 to as much as 15,000 yen on weekends.


3. In Minnesota
In Minnesota, there is also much beautiful nature. For example, there are a lot of lakes, beautiful flowers, a lot of huge parks and so on. There are about 10,000 lakes in Minnesota. People in Minnesota often spend their time there. They walk in the park looking at cute flowers, and they enjoy swimming at the lake. Some people in Minnesota go to lake homes, and they ride cruisers and jet-skis. They enjoy summer sports. Also, people in Minnesota go to some leisure places.
There are huge malls in Minnesota. One of the mall’s names is “Mall of America”. It is said that to be the second biggest mall in the world (“Mall of America”, online). There are about 520 stores in the mall. People in Minnesota sometimes go there, and they go shopping. There is a big amusement park there too. People in Minnesota go there and play with their family and friends. There are some smaller malls in the suburbs, and people go to them too.
According to my study abroad survey, people in Minnesota usually stay home, go shopping, meet friends or date and go out to eat on weekends. A few people sometimes travel, drive and go to church. There are many Christians in America, so there are many churches there. Next, people in Minnesota usually spend their time with family and friends on weekends. They usually go to restaurants, movies, parks and so on. A few people answered that they sometimes go camping, lake, yard sales and golfing in Minnesota. Golfing in Minnesota is so fun, and not as expensive as in Japan. Finally, people in Minnesota spend about 10 ~ 150 dollars on weekends. Surprisingly, one person answered that he doesn’t spend money on weekends.

• Conclusion
It seems that how to spend weekends in Minnesota and how to spend weekends in Kumamoto are similar, because both areas have a lot of wonderful nature and useful downtown areas. Sometimes we go to Mt. Aso. We have nice and beautiful beaches and mountains. People in Minnesota sometimes enjoy its beautiful nature in weekends, such as swimming in some beautiful lakes. There is no ocean, because it is surrounded by other land. However, when it is winter in Minnesota, people enjoy playing ice hockey on the lakes. Ice hockey is one of most famous sports in Minnesota.
On the other hand, in Kumamoto, we enjoy swimming at the sea in summer. There are a few lakes, but the water is dirty, so we can’t swim in the lakes. We can play sports at the beaches, such as volleyball, but it’s not a famous sport in Kumamoto. The most famous spectator sport is soccer, because Kumamoto has a professional soccer team. The name is Roasso. Perhaps we need famous sports that can coexist with the nature of Kumamoto.
In Minnesota, there are two big downtowns. They are Minneapolis and St. Paul. People sometimes go there, and go shopping and eat something. There is a wider variety of stores than in Kumamoto. Moreover, there are a lot of malls and grocery stores in Minnesota. People often buy things on weekends.
In Kumamoto, there are some malls and one downtown. The downtown is not huge, but there are a lot of clothes stores, restaurant, and other useful stores. We sometime go there, and enjoy ourselves. Though this trip and survey, we see that both countries have downtown and beautiful nature, so we can spend comfortably every weekend.

BR 2-7: Beef Stew

This time I chose this book, “Beef Stew”, because I have one of big problem.
This book’s main character is Nicky, he is a little boy. When he got up in the morning, he smelled so good. His mother was cooking beef stew. Her mother said "Please take your friends if you want to eat beef stew with someone". He looked for someone who can eat beef stew together, but no one found. When he came back his home, he found his grandmother, he was so happy and he take her in his house, and they ate beef stew.
Do you remember what I wrote I have one of big problem. It's I can't cook dishes:( Recently my mother started to work, so I had to cook dishes. But I can't cook, so I must learn how to cook much recipe.

BR 2-6: Harry Goes To Day Camp

I choose this book, “Harry Goes To Day Camp”, because I remembered my memory of camp in Minnesota.
The main character is Harry, he is a rhinoceros. He goes to day camp. He plays baseball and basketball. When he plays something, he always asks a counselor. “When do I go swimming?” But swimming didn’t do. After lunch, he could do swimming. He was so glad, and he swum. His swimming form was so nice, he was a hero of the day camp.
When I stayed in Minnesota this summer, I went to camp with my host family. I had so fun time there and I want to go there again. My best memory of camp in Minnesota is to eat some burned marshmallow in biscuits. It was so delicious. I want to eat again.

After a part time job, I met with my friend in downtown. We went to at bar that my friend sometimes go. At first, I talked Mr. Yoshida, who manages the bar. He was so funny man. We talked lots of. After that, we drank so much. As I drank so much, I got drank at once. I had slept about 1 hour in here. When I got up, it was 3 o'clock am. I was so surprised and I apologized with my friend. I think my friend said me that you don't have better mind that thing, but she was so angry with me. I decided when I'm tired, I don't hang out with my friends.

Happy Brithday to TAKUZI

Nov. 10~11th

November. 11th was my friend's birthday. His name is Takuzi, I have known him for 4 years ago. After I entered in university, we were good friends. I planed surprise party to Takuzi. After school, November. 10, I talked about how surprise to him with my friends. As result, we go to restaurant. After that we go to Karaoke. Then, my friend ,Yuumi, say to us that she lost her walllet. This is not ture, this is lie. She pretend to look for her wallet, then she prepare his birthday cake and some nice presents. We discussed a few time, and plan decided. Pm 8:00, we went to restaurant. The restaurant menu was expensive than I always go to, but I ate a lot dishes. After that, when we go to Karaoke, Yuumi said, "My wallet is lost!!!!". I was so funny, but I said, "Really? Are you OK? You should look for your wallet as soon as possible!!" We went to Karaoke expect her. We sang a lot of birthday songs. Takuzi seemed to shy, but he had been glad. Pm 11:30, Yuumi came back, and we talked a lot. Am 0:00, our room's door was knocked someone, and the door was opened. "Happy birthday to Takuzi!!!!". He was so surprising, but soon he said us, “Thank you so much!! I love you guysJ” He sung a song a good song for us. I was so glad. Yuumi cried because she moved his thankful. We had so good time there.

★YOUTH HOSTEL CLUB★

Community is that a group of people who have the same interest, religion, race ect. My current community is club in university. I'm in YOUTH HOSTEL CLUB, this club can stay cheap youth hostel's place. Our club member is about 70 people, so our club has a lot of people. When I entered in this club, I was surprised because many people were smiling. I thought they are spending a lot of fun time together. Also I’m having so nice time their. I will tell you about my favorite club, club activity and wonderful members.

My club does club activity periodically. The first activity that I belonged to club at first was drinking at downtown. When I entered in university, I had drunk with a few people but I have never drunk so many people. Maybe there were about 100 people then. At once we started to drink, our club chief drunk beer that was filled a bottle, so he drunk his beer in one!! I was so surprised what this happens, but I was so excited. I had a so fun time then, of course I got drunk:p When I couldn’t drink a lot, but now I can drink a lot.

My club’s other pleaser is journey. We go to beach in summer, this beach name is “Takahama”. Here is so great beach. There is beautifully transparent ocean. Color is clear blue, the ocean makes me relax. We can play marine sports there. I played like banana boat. It was so fun!! I will play it next year. Also, there is so great night sky on the beach. There are so many stars in there. When I saw there, they were too beautiful to say anything. We can stay there 3 days. Takahama is my one of good memories. Next is the disguise drive. Have you ever been disguise? I like to it. This activity has to wear funny clothes, for example; nurse, police, baseball player, dress and so on. When I was a fresh man, I wore cloth of nurse, and I wore block dress this year. We go to in Amakusa our separate figure. This activity is our club’s funny it.
We go to in Oita in winter. We went to safari park and amusement park last year. I had a good time there. Our club goes to in Okinawa every year. We can stay cheap in here, but I have never been here, because I had no money then. I want to go in Okinawa next year, so I’m having so good time at our club.

Our club has many people, but everyone is good friends. Seniors are so kind. They take care of us. We depend on seniors. Juniors are so cute, they depend on us. We talk a lot. Talk is good communication each other. I like seniors and juniors, but I love same age members. We are so close friends. Without club activity, we often hang out. I think I have met many friends I want to treasure. I want to continue this good relationship.

My club time that I can stay is about 1 year. In this time, I want to make a lot of wonderful time my club members. I think I do youthJ I want to have so many good time their.

Prison break

I will show you about my favorite movie. The tittle is "Prison Break". Do you know this movie? This is famous a video drama and in America. Why this is famous? I want to this movie's attract with you.

This movie is a story in prison. This main character, Michel Scofield(Wentworth Miller), is Lincorn Burrows(Dominic Purcell)'s yonger brother. Lincorn has arrested and he was said that he will be death penalty. But he didn't kill someone, so he has been framed to an organization. When Michel knew this truth, he tries to help his brother in the prison.

The interest of this movie is that story is so exciting!!!! I think the person who this movie thought is very gernious because I can't foresee the development of story. When I watch it, I always feel excited.

This movie have a lot of actor, they are very wonderful acting. Their expression, action and talk makes me excited. In these actor, I like Wentworth Miller. He is so cool. If he is in Kumamoto, I want to go with him:p

This movie have till chapter 3. In America, there are chapter 4, but it doesn't broadcast in Japan. I want to watch it!!!! I can't wait.

BR 2-5: Frog and Toad All Year

I read this book, tittle of the book is "Frog and Toad All Year". It's story of two frogs. Frog is a taller frog, he is active and positive. Toad is a smaller frog, he is negative. Though character of their are different, they are close friends. This book is 5 short stories. These are so good stories, but I have a best story in this book. Tittle is "The surprise". My another school

Recently I started to go another school with my friend, because there is TOIEC test several times every year. I wanted to take this test and I wanted to grow up myself.　Its school name is “Art-I.” The school is so comfortable, and teachers, Mr. Kai and Ms. Yamamoto are very kind. I like them. I go to there every Wednesday and Saturday on week. Class is always good. I can study harder than university’s class. This school expense was not cheap. Half of it I paid, so I can not stop. I have 2 goals though this school. One is to memorize a lot of English words. It is so important to read English sentences faster, so I have to memorize many words. Another goal is to get more 700 scores. The TOIEC test that I’m going to take will held January 11. I have 2 months. I have to study hard every day. I want to do my best!!

Our university held school festival, our school’s festival is so famous in Kumamoto. We sold “Flied ice bread”. It’s our club’s famous food. It’s very delicious, most student sell it every year. We sold it about 3,500 piece, and sale was about 65 thousands yen. I was so surprised and so happy. J After festival, almost of our club’s member went to drink. First, we went to “Hyakushou bar”, and we drunk a little. After that, we went to “Dream bar”, we drunk a lot. We had so fun time there.

Mrs. Doubtfire

We need to love. Everyone wants it. I think we want love, so we alive. I watched “Mrs. Doubtfire”. It’s kind of love comedy. It was so good DVD. I learned about love. Love includes a lot of meaning; for example family, boyfriend or girlfriend, friends and so on. I will write about love from perspective of three, these are marriage, divorce and family. These are very important to you. These will be happen to you. Then, through this DVD, I want to tell you about my opinion and my feeling.

First is marriage. This is too important thing, because man and woman who grow up other place lives together. First of this DVD starts from fierce quarrel. Cause of it is each other’s difference of opinion. Man is funny and active, but he was an unemployed person. Woman is serious. She is working for children. She had about a lot of complaint, and she tells him that she want to divorce to him. I thought they had to discuss more each other, because they become like and marry. I knew that marriage is happiness, but there are a lot of compliments in it. Still I want to marriage somewhere, because to live my lover will makes me glad, happy and fell safety. I thought marriage is what support with each other.

Next is about divorce. This is so important thing too. Searching about cause of divorce, most of cause of divorce was “Not suit their character”. I surprised because most of the person who marry was love marriage. I thought that they spent same time together, so they know character of partner though. I thought that after marriage, they knew partner’s another character. I afraid of marriage and divorce though this search.

Third is about family. I have 5 person, father, mother, older brother and grandmother. I think I bless myself, because my family is very kind. There is a lot of form of family all over the world, for example; just mother or father or ground parent, not relationship person and so on. But I don’t deny their family. They have their life style. Though this DVD, I learned about family’s love. Family is warm, comfortable and makes me happy. The time to spend with family is important for everyone.

I learned a lot of things from this DVD, for example; smile, discussing, bonds and so on. It is very important for everyone to feel happy with love. This DVD is story of family’s love. This is very important and very need it. Though this DVD, I learned many good things.
